Need to identify suspect in Copperfield assault

We are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who is believed to be involved in an assault that occurred at a residence in the community of Copperfield earlier this month.

At approximately 2:25 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, it is believed an unknown man approached a residence in the 0-100 block of Copperhead Way S.E. and began banging on the front door. When the homeowners opened the door, the man demanded to speak with an individual by a name not known to the residents. One of the homeowners informed the man that no one by that name lives at the address. Then, without warning, the suspect physically assaulted the homeowner. A brief struggle ensued before the suspect fled the area in an unidentified dark-coloured sedan.

After exhausting all investigative avenues to identify the suspect, we are now asking for help from the public.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, approximately 6’ tall, with a medium build, short dark hair and a beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark-coloured jacket with a light-coloured top underneath.

Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
