Need to identify – Jewelry theft suspect
The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a man believed to be involved in a jewelry store theft that occurred in the southeast earlier this year.
On Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at approximately 8:00 pm, the suspect entered the Michael Hill Southcentre Mall store located at 100 Anderson Rd. S.E. Once inside, the man asked one of the store employees to see a 10-karat gold chain valued at approximately $12,000.
As the store employee was about to place the chain in a case under the glass, the suspect allegedly reached over the counter and grabbed the chain out of the employee’s hands. He then ran from the store and exited the mall. He was picked up outside the doors by a dark-coloured SUV driven by an unknown person.
The suspect is described as 5’8 with a slight build, curly hair, glasses and facial hair. He was also wearing a baseball hat and a dark jacket.
CCTV photos of the suspect are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect believed to be involved in this robbery is asked to call the police non-emergency number, 403-266-1234. Tips can also be reported anonymously through Crime Stoppers:
