Multiple people in custody in connection with suspicious death

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has multiple people in custody in connection with yesterday’s suspicious death in Forest Lawn, as the investigation continues to move forward.

Officers are also currently searching in both Forest Lawn and Dover for any evidence that may assist with the ongoing investigation.

At approximately 4:50 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, officers were called to the 2400 block of 47 Street S.E., after a neighbour reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots coming from a home.

Officers entered the home in question and located a man in his 20s who was deceased.

Several men were seen running from the home and leaving in a four-door sedan.

The men in custody were arrested yesterday evening in the northeast community of Taradale following a lengthy standoff with police. They are considered persons of interest at this time. No charges have been laid in connection with this case.

No further information is available at this time, however, additional details will be released as they become available.

An autopsy will be completed early next week, at which time the victim’s name will be released.

Anyone who may have information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
