Motorcyclist injured in southeast collision
A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital with life-altering injuries following a collision in southeast Calgary yesterday afternoon.
At about 3:40 p.m. yesterday, Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, we responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Cranston Avenue and Cranbrook Drive S.E.
Investigators believe a 2023 BMW R 1250 RT motorcycle, operated by a man in his 70s, was travelling southbound on Cranston Avenue S.E. at the intersection of Cranbrook Drive S.E., when it went off the road to the right, struck a concrete median and lost control.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained life-altering injuries.
Alcohol, drugs and road conditions are not believed to be factors in the collision. At this time, excessive speed is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
