Motorcyclist dies in collision

A man has died as a result of a single-vehicle motorcycle collision and investigators continue to ask for witnesses to come forward with dashcam footage.

On Friday, March 31, 2023, police were called around 3:20 p.m., to the collision, which occurred on northbound Macleod Trail near 31 Avenue S.W. The investigation has revealed that a 34-year-old man was operating a 2008 Yamaha sport motorcycle, travelling northbound on Macleod Trail when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck a barrier lining the east side of the road.

The motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

Speed is considered to be a factor in this collision. Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be factors in this collision at this time.
