Missing man’s death deemed suspicious

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the suspicious death of a man that went missing in September of 2016.

On Jan. 29, 2017, Cochrane RCMP were notified of human remains discovered in a wooded area near the Jumping Pound Demonstration Forest.

An autopsy conducted this week has confirmed the identity as Fletcher KIMMEL, 30, of Calgary.

KIMMEL was last seen in the city’s northeast on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016.

Investigators continue to determine the circumstances that led to his death.
