Media Availability: Update on overnight fires

Calgary fire crews remain on-scene at two separate, two-alarm, residential fires that occurred overnight.

The first incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. on Royal Oak Grove NW. On arrival, crews found two homes fully engulfed and evacuated more than a dozen neighbouring homes as a precaution. Crews remain on scene and the fire is contained. There are no injuries reported as a result of this fire.

The second incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. at the 100 block of Falchurch Crescent NE. Crews remain on scene and the fire is contained. There are multiple fatalities reported at this scene.

Chief Steve Dongworth will be on-scene to address the media. Please note we are unable to accommodate individual requests for interviews at this time.
