Media Availability: Election Day
The Elections Calgary team will be focused on administration of the election on Monday, October 16, 2017 to ensure Calgarians have the opportunity to cast their ballots. A media availability is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on that day to answer questions.

Please note: On Monday, October 16, voter turnout numbers will be provided through media advisories at approximately: 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Once voting stations close, voting stations will only be reporting results to the Election Office. Final turnout numbers will not be distributed to the media until all voting results have been recorded.

Voting on election day
The Calgary General Election will take place on Monday, October 16, 2017. Voters must vote at their designated voting station on Election Day. Voting stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters are reminded to bring authorized ID with them and can search their residential (home) address to find their designated voting station on electionscalgary.ca.
Advance Vote turnout
The final turnout for the 2017 Advance Vote was 74,965, which is the highest Advance Vote turnout in the history of Calgary. The final 2013 Advance Vote turnout was 22,410 and the 2010 Advance Vote turnout was 23,721. The 2017 Advance Vote turnout represents an increase of 235 per cent over 2013. The 2017 turnout also represents 11.2 per cent of the total enumerated electors (registered voters). There were 666,663 enumerated electors during the 2017 Civic Census.
