Media Availability: City of Calgary to hold official Grand Opening of Thomson Family Park

The City of Calgary is pleased to announce the official Grand Opening of Thomson Family Park on Friday, Oct, 14 at 12:30 p.m.

The redevelopment of the park was made possible in part thanks to a generous donation by the Thomson family. This inner-city green space offers Beltline residents a new community recreation space, with a playground, picnic tables, winter skating opportunities and a lookout viewpoint.

Thomson Family Park also preserves a part of Calgary’s history- honouring the cultural history of the site with design elements inspired by the game of lawn bowling.

Media are invited to hear remarks from City officials and to tour the redeveloped park. Street parking is available.
