Media Advisory: Technical Briefing for the 2017 Council Swearing-In Ceremony

A motion was approved to relocate the 2017 Council Swearing-In Ceremony from the Council Chamber to the Municipal Complex Atrium during a Combined Meeting of Council on September 11, 2017. The report also recommended a change for the ceremony to take place during daytime hours to allow more public participation.

Media are invited to a brief update tomorrow morning that will outline these changes and provide an opportunity for questions regarding technical or other requirements in planning your outlet’s coverage for the day. The 2017 Council Swearing-In Ceremony will take place on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at 2 p.m.

Please note this is not an interview opportunity and we recommend television stations send the videographers who will be covering the ceremony.

When: Thursday, October 12 at 2 p.m.

Where: Media Lounge (for use during the Council Swearing-In Ceremony)at the Calgary Municipal Complex – Atrium level, 800 Macleod Trail S.E. It is in the room adjacent to City Hall School  (signs will be posted).
