Media advisory: New emergency preparedness tool for Calgarians debuts at Disaster Alley on May 4th

Disasters in Canada are increasing in frequency and severity. Calgarians have a responsibility to get informed and be prepared.

Media are invited to see a demonstration of the latest tool in Calgary’s emergency preparedness arsenal – the Disaster Risk Explorer, an interactive website that provides detailed information about disasters that pose the greatest risk to our city and individual communities.

This tool will be presented to Calgarians at the 10th annual Disaster Alley event on May 4th at McMahon Stadium from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. visitors will have the chance to meet first responders and learn what they can do to keep themselves, their families and communities safe.
