REMINDER: Indigenous, Black, and diverse Racialized youth talk about how they are represented in the Media

Media is invited to attend A Conversation between Indigenous, Black, and diverse Racialized Youth and Media. This collaboration is between The City of Calgary's Anti-Racism Program and education leaders.

The City’s Anti-Racism Program heard from local youth earlier this year about how to support an Anti-Racist Calgary. One of their recommendations was to address the representation of Racialized Calgarians in the media, which led to this event. We hope you can attend as you can impact the lives of Black and diverse Racialized Calgarians through your work.

Through their lived experiences and perspectives of news reports, the youth panelists will highlight issues they perceive in the media. These issues might include their representation in media reporting and leadership roles within the media, the role and influence the media can play to feature them, and how the youth could support media in anti-racist reporting. Media will also have an opportunity to ask questions to the youth panelists.
