Media Advisory: Calgary Police to take part in the Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Alberta

We’re freezin’ for a reason! Each year, the Calgary Police Service (CPS), along with other law enforcement agencies, take part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run  Polar Plunge challenge in support of  Special Olympics Alberta (SOA) athletes. By taking part in the Polar Plunge, participants and donors help to raise funds for more than 3,000 SOA athletes across the province. People can choose to participate in Polar Plunge events or donate online. Today, SOA athletes will have the chance to douse members of the CPS Executive Leadership Team with ice cold water!

When: Today, Monday, Feb. 28, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.

Location: Outside of Calgary Police Service Headquarters, located at 5111 47 Street N.E., Calgary, Alberta, T3J 3R2

 Who: The following representatives will be in attendance:

  • Chief Constable of the Calgary Police Service, Mark Neufeld
  • Deputy Chief Chad Tawfik
  • Deputy Chief Raj Gill
  • Several Special Olympics Alberta athletes
