Media Advisory: 2019 Flood Readiness

River flooding is top-of-mind for Calgarians at this time of year. It is The City of Calgary’s priority to monitor, manage and reduce river flood risk, and to ensure citizens understand their risk and have the information they need to prepare.

River flooding is most likely to occur between May 15 and July 15 due to the combination of snow melt and heavy rainfall events.

Media are invited to a photo/interview opportunity with Sandy Davis, flood risk awareness program manager, who will speak about our 2019 river flood forecast, flood readiness information and the flood management strategy.
