Media Advisory: 2018 W.O. Mitchell Book Prize shortlist reading event

The City of Calgary and the Writers’ Guild of Alberta are hosting a shortlist reading event for the 2018 W.O. Mitchell Book Prize finalists.

The City of Calgary celebrates literary achievement by Calgary authors: The City of Calgary W.O. Mitchell Book Prize, in partnership with the Writers’ Guild of Alberta, recognizes the 2018 finalists for an outstanding book published in the preceding year.

The City of Calgary established the W.O. Mitchell Book Prize in honour of the late Calgary writer W.O. Mitchell. This $5,000 book prize will be awarded at The Calgary Awards Presentation on June 12, 2019.

This year’s three outstanding local finalists will be available for a Q&A at Shelf Life Books.
