Media Advisory - What’s next for Crowchild Trail? Recommendations presented for approval

The Crowchild Trail Study wrapped up in December 2016. It identified short-, medium- and long-term changes and upgrades for Crowchild Trail between 24 Avenue N.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. The recommendations will be presented to the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation & Transit on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. If approved by Committee and Council, they will replace the current plans of record adopted by City Council in 1978.

An implementation plan for the short-term recommendations will also be presented to Committee on April 19, 2017, as part of the Infrastructure Calgary program update. If funding is confirmed, detailed design and construction is anticipated to start in spring 2017.

WHAT:    Members of the media are invited to learn about the benefits the recommended changes and upgrades to Crowchild Trail will provide to Calgarians, as well as the short-term implementation plan and timing. 

Project Manager, Feisal Lakha, will provide an overview of the study recommendations. Question and answer to follow. Individual interviews will be accommodated after the question and answer.
