Massage therapist charged with sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service Sex Crimes Unit has charged a massage therapist in relation to several alleged sexual assaults that occurred between April and September 2018.

On Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, a man reported that he had been sexually assaulted during a massage that occurred in April 2018. The sexual assault was alleged to have occurred during a massage treatment at the Movement Sports Clinic, located in the 100 block of 9 Avenue S.W.

As police conducted an investigation, two additional victims came forward to report similar experiences, which had occurred in August 2018 and in September 2018. All three victims are adult men and had attended the same clinic.

As a result, Dennis Quebral BALTAZAR, 44, of Calgary, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault. He will next appear in court on Thursday, March 21, 2019.

The Movement Sports Clinic has fully cooperated throughout the investigation. Police believe that the offender had previously worked at multiple other massage clinics throughout Calgary.

The investigation is ongoing, and the CPS encourages anyone who feels they have been a victim of sexual assault to report it to police. Victims of sexual assault can report it to police by calling 403-266-1234, or 9-1-1 if they are in immediate danger.

There is no time limit on how long a victim has to report a sexual assault in Canada.
