Massage therapist charged with sexual assault in city’s southwest

We have charged a massage therapist with sexual assault following an incident involving a client in August 2025.

On Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, the victim received a massage at Kinesio Massage Therapy located 3949 17 Ave. S.W. It is believed that during the appointment the massage therapist touched the victim in a sexual manner without consent.

After reporting the incident to police earlier this year, officers began investigating and on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, a search warrant was executed at the business and one man was arrested.

As a result, Yuriy Zhivov, 52, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026.

In Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault. Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it, even if many years have passed since the incident.
