Marlborough suspicious death deemed homicide

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the identity of a man who died in an incident in Marlborough on the weekend has been confirmed and his death deemed a homicide.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 9, 2018, police responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence in the 0-100 block of Margate Place N.E. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s in medical distress. The man was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition and later died.

Jason DIRKS, 46, of Calgary, has been identified as the victim. The cause of death will not be released at this time.

Investigators do not believe this to be a random incident and the investigation continues.
