Man wanted on warrants for uttering threats

We have issued warrants for a man believed to be responsible for threatening women he met through online dating sites.

Three women have come forward to police since early May 2023, reporting that they have received messages threatening violence from a man they met on a dating site.

The first woman reported that she recently met and interacted with a man online. When she did not respond to one of his messages after a few hours, the man sent her a text message wishing her physical harm. The woman blocked the man’s phone number, and then received additional text messages from two alternative numbers, threatening her with physical harm.

A second woman reported that she met a man on a dating site and later met him in person. She later received text messages from the man where he threatened to break into her residence and harm her.

A third woman has also come forward to report that she has received similar messages threatening violence from a person matching the same description, who she met through a dating site.

Matthew Edward WILLIAMS, 33, is wanted on three charges of uttering threats. He is described as 5’9” tall, approximately 180 pounds with light brown hair and blue eyes.
