Man wanted on warrant after removing tracking bracelet

A man who was due in court to face sentencing in relation to a homicide is now wanted on a warrant after removing his tracking bracelet.

Joseph CHLALA, 22, is charged with manslaughter with a firearm in relation to the death of Christian NAVOS, who was killed in the southeast community of Legacy nearly three years ago. CHLALA was due to appear in court for sentencing today, Thursday, March 16, 2023.

It is believed CHLALA was staying at a residence in the 100 block of Howse Common N.E. and was picked up from the residence around 9:40 a.m. today, Thursday, March 16, 2023, in a grey Chevrolet Impala. Sometime thereafter, it is believed he removed the ankle bracelet that was issued as part of his bail conditions. Police have been unable to locate him and are turning to the public for help.

CHLALA is described as 5’5” tall with a heavy build, brown hair and green eyes.
