Man charged with sexual assault and voyeurism after meeting woman on dating app

We have charged a man with sexual assault and voyeurism after it is believed he met a woman on a dating app and subsequently sexually assaulted her at his residence.

In October 2025, the victim began communicating with a man she met on a dating app and later arranged to meet him in person for a date.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at about 5 p.m., the victim met the man at his residence in southeast Calgary. During the victim’s time at the residence the man allegedly sexually assaulted her and took photos of her without her permission.

As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the man’s residence and items related to the investigation were seized.

As a result, Spencer Maximus ANDREWS, 23, of Calgary, is charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of voyeurism.

He will next appear in court on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Before engaging in any sexual activity, consent must be given by both parties. Consent means agreeing to each sexual encounter, including kissing, touching or intercourse. Sexual contact is never acceptable without clear, voluntary and specific consent. People are free to change their mind at any time, and any sexual activity must stop immediately once consent is withdrawn.

In Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault. Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it, even if many years have passed since the incident.
