Man charged with break-in at southeast school

The Calgary Police Service has one man in custody following an overnight break-in at a southeast school.

Several items were taken during the 1 a.m., burglary at Radisson Park School in the 2800 block of Radcliffe Drive S.E. Some of the items, including numerous student personnel files and excess clothing, have since been recovered, however, investigators are asking residents to watch for any materials that may have been discarded in the community following the break-in. Any items that seem suspicious or out of place are asked to be turned into the school or reported to police by calling the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.

During the Monday morning incident, the school’s alarm was triggered which alerted security guards to the break-in. When the guard arrived at the school he witnessed a man running away. He called police and officers responded and found a large amount of blood throughout the school. It’s believed the offender cut himself while gaining entry to the building.

The officers who arrived at scene were made aware of two similar recent break-ins and identified the suspect as someone known to police. The man was later arrested downtown.

Joshua Blair NATTAR, 34, of no-fixed-address in Calgary, is charged with break and enter.
