Man charged in triple homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a man in relation to a triple homicide that occurred yesterday.

At approximately 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, police were called for a check on welfare to two residences in Calgary. Upon arrival at a residence in the 2000 block of Applevillage Court S.E., police found a deceased female.

A deceased male and deceased female were subsequently found during a check on welfare at a residence in the 10100 block of Hidden Valley Drive N.W.

Autopsies are expected to take place on Wednesday, Aug. 1, and Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018. The victims’ identities won’t be released until the autopsies have been completed.

A man was arrested on Tuesday in Applewood in relation to this case. Dustin DUTHIE, 25, has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018.

Although the deaths are believed to be connected, the motive has not yet been confirmed and the investigation continues.
