Man charged in southeast stabbing

A Calgary man has been charged following an investigation into an assault with a weapon that occurred in the southeast community of Dover earlier this week.

On March 23, 2026, at approximately 10 p.m., we responded to reports of a man who had been stabbed near the 100 block of Dovertree Place S.E. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Attending officers were quickly able to identify the suspect. He was located at a nearby residence and was arrested without further incident.

Dakota Cody ERMINE, 35, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of failure to comply.

“This was a very serious incident that resulted in critical injuries to the victim,” says Calgary Police Service Staff Sgt. Keith Shufelt. “Thanks to the quick actions of responding officers, we were able to locate and arrest the suspect safely and bring the situation to a controlled resolution.”

Ermine will next appear in court on March 25.
