Man charged in fatal stabbing outside downtown bar
Following an exhaustive investigation, and in consultation with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service, a man has been charged in the death of Jonas Robert NEDD, who died as a result of a fatal stabbing outside of the Commonwealth Bar & Stage on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday, May 3, 2025, outside of a downtown bar, and subsequently charged on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Drayden Leroy NAYNEECASSUM-TOTO, 19, is now charged with second-degree murder. He remains in custody and will next appear in court on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Victim identified in fatal downtown stabbing
Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim of Saturday’s fatal altercation outside of the Commonwealth Bar & Stage has been identified as 21-year-old Jonas Robert NEDD.
The four suspects who were taken into custody following the altercation were subsequently released without charge pending further investigation.
Investigators have spoken with more than a dozen witnesses and are in the process of reviewing countless hours of CCTV. They continue to look for the owners of a dark-coloured Tesla who are believed to possibly be able to provide additional footage.
