Man charged in fatal shooting

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a man in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred on the weekend.

At approximately 1 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018, police were called to the Town and Country Inn, in the 1800 block of 50 Street S.E., for reports of two men involved in an altercation, which led to shots being fired.

When police arrived on scene, they found a man in his 40s in life threatening condition. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Adam COLQUHOUN, 43, of Calgary, died as a result of the shooting.

Following a number of investigative techniques, a suspect was arrested on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Ryan Oliver Reid FOSTER, 37, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.

This is Calgary’s seventh murder of 2018.
