Man charged in connection with August homicide

Charges have been laid against a man connection with the homicide of Michael Donald LLOYD.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, police and EMS were called to an apartment in the 200 block of 6 Avenue S.E., to check on the welfare of an occupant. A man was found deceased within the apartment and it was apparent he had died several days before being discovered. An autopsy confirmed the deceased as 42-year-old Michael Donald LLOYD.

On Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, we asked for public assistance to locate a person of interest in connection with the homicide.

Earlier this week, Steven Joseph READER, 27, was arrested and has now been charged with second-degree murder. He will next appear in court today, Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021.
