Man charged in bank robbery

The Calgary Police Service Robbery Unit has charged a man in connection with a bank robbery that occurred last weekend.

On Sunday, July 10, 2016, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a lone man entered the TD Canada Trust bank, located in the 1200 block of Centre Street N.E. He approached a teller with a robbery note and was given an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the bank.

The suspect was observed by HAWCS fleeing the scene. Ground units were dispatched to the area, where the suspect was located and arrested without incident.

No one was injured and no property was damaged as a result of the incident.

Cody James Arden WOOD, 22, of Calgary, was charged with one count of robbery. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, July 12, 2016.
