Man charged after stolen property discovered online

We have charged a man with attempting to sell stolen property after several items were advertised for sale online.

Sometime between Friday, June 13, and Sunday, June 15, 2026, an unknown person broke into a home located in the 400 block of Vegas Way N.W., and stole 20 3D printers, along with printer accessories, worth more than $20,000.

Several days later, the victim of the theft saw many of the stolen items being sold online, identifiable by several unique markings.

He contacted police who began investigating.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, we executed a search warrant at a home in the 4700 block of Dalton Drive N.W., and recovered 17 3D printers, as well as six spools of printer filament.  Photos of some of the recovered printers and accessories are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

As a result, Brent KUZMA, 31, of Calgary, is charged with:

·        One count of trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000

·        One count of possession of stolen property over $5,000

·        Two counts of failing to comply with release orders

“This is a good reminder that if you locate your stolen items online, to alert the police and don’t confront anyone yourself,” said Insp. Colleen Bowers, District 7, Calgary Police Service. “It’s also a reminder for buyers to authenticate the origin of items purchased online.”

KUZMA is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026.
