Man and woman charged with several fraudulent credit card-related offences

We have charged a man and a woman in relation to several fraud-related offences that occurred between May 2025 and July 2025.

Following the man’s release from custody on Monday, April 28, 2025, he was actively being monitored by our Prolific Offender Engagement Team (POET).

As part of POET’s mandate, our officers conducted checks to confirm he was not re-engaging in criminal activity following his release, however, in May 2025, the man was believed to have re-engaged in criminal activity, and POET began an investigation.

As the investigation progressed, it is believed the suspect was involved in a series of fraudulent transactions including the use of stolen and cloned credit cards at local businesses. Investigators believe the man was responsible for at least seven fraudulent transactions.

On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, while attempting another fraudulent transaction inside a northwest Calgary store, the man was located by members of POET and the Alberta Sheriffs.

Police immediately arrested him at the scene. Two individuals believed to be associated to the man were also taken into custody.

As the investigation continued, several warrants were executed, including a search of the vehicle believed to be associated to the man, where approximately $3,200 worth of pharmaceutical drugs, an identification embossing machine and break and enter tools were seized.

As a result, two individuals were charged, and the third person was released without charges.

Jonathan Keith HOLMES, 47, of Calgary, is charged with:

·         Five counts of possession of a forged credit card

·         Possession of identification

·         Use of a forged document

·         Two counts of fraud

He will next appear in court on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025.

Danielle EHMANN, 38, of Calgary, is charged with:

·         Personation with intent

·         Obstruction of a peace officer

She will next appear in court on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025.
