Joint operation results in 42 warrants executed and nine arrested

A two-day joint operation between the Calgary Police Service (CPS) and the Alberta Sheriffs has resulted in nine people being arrested on outstanding warrants.

On Wednesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 21, 2026, officers from District 3 partnered with members of the Alberta Sheriffs’ Fugitive Apprehension Sheriff Support Team (FASST) to target wanted individuals residing within District 3. Four teams, each comprised of Calgary police officers and Alberta sheriffs conducted investigations and executed warrants across the district.

Throughout the operation, officers checked 75 addresses and arrested nine individuals on outstanding warrants. In total, 42 warrants were executed, 30 of which were related to criminal offences such as:

·         Fraud under $5,000

·         Fail to comply with probation order

·         Fail to comply with release order

·         Fail to attend court

·         Fail to attend for fingerprinting

·         Possession of unpackaged tobacco

·         Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking

·         Break and enter

·         Mischief to property under $5,000

12 additional warrants were related to bylaw or traffic offences, which included:

·         Driving without insurance

·         Fishing without a licence

·         Trespassing

Officers also collected approximately $3,000 in outstanding fines.
