On Friday, April 2, 2021, at about 6:45 a.m., the Calgary Fire Department attended a fire at a home slated for demolition in the 3800 block of 1 Street N.W. The fire destroyed the detached garage on the property and damaged an adjacent garage.

On the same day, at about 8:30 a.m., the items in the back of a white 2007 Ford F150 truck with Alberta license plates BKW 7548, parked in the 100 block of 43 Avenue N.W. were set on fire.

A few minutes later, CCTV footage shows a male suspect walking west in the same alley as the Ford F150, lighting a fire in a small wood enclosure in the 100 block of 44 Avenue N.W. The fire spread to a nearby garbage bin and a large tree in the backyard of a home.

The man is described as 50 to 60 years old, with a grey beard and average build. He was wearing a black and red baseball cap, light blue jeans and a black jacket with a grey hooded sweater underneath. The man was carrying a maroon and white backpack and a plastic bag.
