Investigation continues into the death of Anthony Taylor

We are once again asking the public for help to find the person or people responsible for the death of a man in the community of Manchester last summer.

Anthony TAYLOR was found dead in the early morning hours of Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020. Around 3 a.m. that morning, officers responded to reports of an assault at a residence in the 5500 block of 2 Street S.W. When they arrived, they found Anthony lying between two parked cars near the residence.

The autopsy revealed that Anthony died from stab wounds. Investigators believe he was involved in an altercation at the residence earlier in the night, which led to his death. The residence is known to police and efforts have been made to address complaints and drug activity in the area. Investigators believe his death was not random.

“We are still working to try learn what happened that night but are at a point where we need someone to give us new information to move things forward,” said Staff Sergeant Martin Schiavetta with the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit. “If you know who did this, it’s time to do the right thing and come forward with the information so Anthony’s family can have some closure.”

Investigators have spoken with multiple witnesses and have gone through all the evidence at the scene, but it has not led to any suspects. Given the nature of the residence, it is challenging to identify everyone who could have been there that night.
