Information sought in September shooting

After exhausting all leads, investigators are now turning to the public for assistance in furthering an investigation into a shooting in September that narrowly missed injuring a woman who was walking her dog.

Around 5:10 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, a woman left her house in the 1300 block of 11 Avenue S.E., when a shot rang out, narrowly missing the woman while striking the driver’s side of a nearby vehicle.

Investigators do not know if this shooting was targeted, or if the woman was an innocent bystander who was nearly struck. 

Addressing gun violence continues to be a priority for our Service. Through investigation, prevention, and enforcement activities we have coordinated our resources to reduce victimization and enhance community safety.
