Homicide Unit investigation at Sunalta CTrain Station

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating an incident at the Sunalta CTrain Station that resulted in the death of a man.

At approximately 11:20 p.m., last night, Friday, April 28, 2017, emergency crews were called to the station for reports of a physical altercation between two men. Upon arrival, one of the men was found to have sustained serious injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

CCTV from the station has assisted greatly, however, the name and location of the suspect is not known at this time. Investigators are asking for public assistance in identifying the suspect in this case. Photos of the suspect are being released and are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

The victim in this case has been tentatively identified, but next of kin has not been notified. An autopsy is scheduled for early next week.

It is anticipated that the Sunalta CTrain Station, as well as a three-block radius surrounding the south side of the station, will remain closed until approximately 10 a.m.
