Homicide investigators seek information in Manchester Industrial area suspicious death

Homicide investigators are calling on anyone who may have information about the death and disposal of the body of a man in the Manchester Industrial area to come forward.

Police were called to an area outside of an industrial complex in the 5500 block of 1A Street S.W., shortly after 3 p.m., on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, for reports that a body had been discovered in a suitcase. The CPS Homicide Unit was called out to investigate.

Quick action by responding officers and investigators led to one person being questioned and their involvement is pending further investigation.

An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to formally identify the victim as John Sidney TAYLOR, 62. The cause and manner of death remain undetermined at this point, pending further testing.
