Harvest Hills home invasion investigation

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a home invasion that took place last night.

Between 9:45 and 10:15 p.m., on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, an unknown man rang the doorbell of a residence in the 0 to 100 block of Harvest Grove Green N.E. When the elderly homeowner opened the door, the man brandished a weapon and forced his way into the home.

The man proceeded to collect numerous items, including money and jewelry before fleeing the home. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as 5’10” tall and was wearing a black balaclava over his face, black gloves, black jacket, and dark blue or black pants.

At this time, investigators believe this was a random incident.

The Calgary Police Service encourages citizens to look through peep holes or windows prior to opening their doors and never open their doors to suspicious people. Citizens can also consider installing an alarm system.
