Harvest Hills Death Declared Homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has declared the death of a man in Harvest Hills to be a homicide.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, April 7, 2016, police were called to the 9700 block of Harvest Hills Link N.E., for reports of a body lying in an alley. A man was found deceased.

As a result of the investigation, at this time it is believed this was a targeted incident and investigators have determined this to be a homicide.

An autopsy conducted today, Friday, April 8, 2016, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Harsimran Singh BIRDI, 20. Further testing is required before cause of death can be considered for release.
