Golfers Tee Off for a Weekend of Community, Competition and Camaraderie
CALGARY – Golfers of all skill levels are teeing it up this weekend to celebrate the spirit of the game at two of Calgary’s premier municipal golf courses.
The event begins on Saturday, August 1, at Shaganappi Point Golf Course, with tee times starting at 12 p.m., and continues on Sunday, August 2, at Maple Ridge Golf Course, with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
While participants will have the opportunity to test their skills in a competitive setting, this tournament is about much more than scores and prizes. The weekend is designed to bring people together, foster new connections and create lasting memories while enjoying the beautiful landscapes and challenging layouts of Calgary’s golf courses.
Players will be encouraged to challenge themselves, meet fellow golf enthusiasts and experience the unique sense of camaraderie that has long made golf a community-building sport.
“Golf has a unique way of bringing people together,” said John Faber, City of Calgary Golf Lead. “Whether you're competing for a personal best or simply enjoying a round with new playing partners, the real value of this event is the community it creates. It’s an opportunity to play in a tournament, share experiences and enjoy time on two outstanding golf courses in the heart of Calgary.”
This two-day tournament highlights the role golf plays in connecting people through friendly competition and shared experiences. Participants can expect a welcoming atmosphere where golfers of all experience levels can enjoy the game, learn from one another and celebrate the sport together.
“This weekend is about creating memorable experiences both on and off the course,” said Todd Moon, Golf Business Development Coordinator. “Competition is part of the fun, but the lasting takeaway is the friendships, conversations and sense of connection that develop throughout the event. We’re excited to welcome golfers to Shaganappi and Maple Ridge for a weekend that showcases everything we love about the game.”
With scenic views, rewarding challenges and a strong sense of community, the event promises a memorable experience for all participants.
