Four charged with LOMOND homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged four people in relation to a 2016 homicide.

At approximately 11 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, police responded to a residence in the 1600 block of 42 Street S.W.

Trevor LOMOND, 33, was found unconscious in the residence. He died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016.

It is believed the incident resulted over a dispute over money and a possible outstanding debt.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, CPS Homicide Unit investigators, with assistance from a number of CPS units and outside agencies arrested three suspects at various locations in the city. Another man was arrested in Edmonton:

  • Mohamed Abdullahi HASSAN, 30
  • Abdulrizak Osman JEYTE, 30
  • Mahad Liban DIRIR, 31
  • Ahmed Mohamed FARAH, 32

All four men are charged with one count each of first-degree murder and one count each of forcible confinement.

FARAH is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017. HASSAN, JEYTE, and DIRIR will next appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017.
