Four charged in high-end clothing thefts

Four people have been charged following an investigation into the theft of high-end clothing from a downtown business last week.

On Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, police were called to the Lululemon store located at 2308A Fourth Street S.W., when four people entered the store around 5:30 p.m., and removed clothing and merchandise, valued at more than $6,000, from the store without paying.

Keen witnesses were able to describe the get-away vehicle, which police later located parked outside a residence in the 800 block of McPherson Road N.E. The residence was searched and five people were arrested. One of the five was later determined not to have been involved in the incident and was released from custody. The stolen merchandise was retrieved and returned to the store.

Chantelle BEARHAT, 30, Miranda NASHCAPPO, 41, Nicolas WOLFEAR, 20 and Gilbert PEEACE, 46, were each charged with one count of theft over $5,000. NASHCAPPO and WOLFEAR were also each charged with breaches of conditions.

“We would like to thank the witnesses who provided key information that led to the quick arrest of these individuals and recovery of the merchandise,” says District 1 Staff Sergeant Paul Ralstin. “While retail crime can seem victimless, it has a real impact on business owners and the overall sense of safety within our community.”
