Firearm incident at A.E. Cross School

We are investigating a firearm incident that happened at a school in the southwest community of Glenbrook.

At approximately 2:10 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, police were called to A.E. Cross School located at 3445 37 Street S.W., for reports that a gun was being pointed at students. The incident was reported to have happened outside on the school’s west field.

An unknown male approached a small group of students, pointed a gun at them and threatened them. The suspect then attempted to steal a cell phone from one of the students before leaving on foot in a westbound direction.

There were no reports that shots had been fired during the incident.

We are looking for a single male suspect described to be approximately 6' tall, with a slim build and is believed to be between the ages of 15 and 18. At the time of the offence, the suspect was wearing a Champion brand red, white and blue windbreaker, grey pants, and had a bandage or cast on one arm.
