Fatal Pedestrian Hit and Run - Truck Located

A truck believed to have been involved in the fatal hit and run collision with a pedestrian this weekend has been located.

At approximately 11:10 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, police were called to the 9200 block of 17 Avenue S.E., for a report of a deceased pedestrian on the side of the road.

Investigators believe the pedestrian, a 54-year-old male, was struck by an eastbound vehicle on 17 Avenue that failed to stop following the collision.

The truck, a black Dodge Ram, was located in northeast Calgary on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016. It is not believed to have been stolen at the time the collision occurred. Police are speaking with the owner of the truck, however, charges have not yet been laid.

The incident remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information about this collision, or who may have been in the area at the time, to call the Traffic Unit at 403-567-4000, or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
