Fatal pedestrian collision - Memorial Drive

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section continues to investigate a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on the weekend.

At approximately 3:20 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, a car travelling eastbound on Memorial Drive struck a pedestrian in the 1500 block, near the Deerfoot Trail interchange. It’s believed the pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, was sitting on the road, in a driving lane, at the time of the collision. The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and was not injured during the collision. Neither speed nor alcohol are considered factors in this collision. No charges have been laid and the investigation continues.
