The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section continues to investigate a fatal collision involving a motorcycle.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., on Saturday, May 12, 2018, police responded to the intersection of 68 Street and 22 Avenue N.E., for a collision between a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2017 Honda Civic.

The motorcyclist was travelling south on 68 Street when it collided with the Civic as it turned left on to 22 Avenue. It’s believed the Civic made the turn in front of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the side of the Civic and the motorcyclist was thrown a significant distance. He suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. The 67-year-old motorcyclist was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries this morning.

It’s not believed drugs, alcohol or excessive speed contributed to this collision.
