Fatal collision investigated

We continue to investigate a fatal traffic collision that occurred earlier today, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., a 2014 BMW was travelling north on 84 Street S.E.

As it approached the 7000 block of 84 Street S.E., the vehicle left the roadway before rolling into the ditch west of 84 Street S.E. It is believed the vehicle continued to roll, crossing the road once again, coming to a rest in the ditch east of 84 Street S.E.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

This is the fifth traffic fatality in Calgary so far this year.

Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision.
