Family of Colton Crowshoe pleads for additional information

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit, along with the family of Colton CROWSHOE, continue to look for answers in his murder and believe there are people in the community who have yet to come forward.

On Friday, July 4, 2014, Colton James CROWSHOE, 18, went missing after leaving a house party in the Abbeydale area.

Several weeks later, on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at approximately 2 p.m., emergency personnel received a report of a possible body in a water retention pond in the area of Stoney Trail and 16 Avenue N.E. Following an autopsy by The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim was identified as Colton and his death was determined to be a homicide.

Investigators believe that Colton was killed shortly after leaving the Abbeydale house party on Friday, July 4, 2014, and his body was dumped in the retention pond. While we have spoken to a number of witnesses, there are still individuals who have not come forward, including potential witnesses who were present at the house party.

“For almost eight years, individuals in our community have stayed silent about Colton’s death” says Staff Sergeant Sean Gregson of the CPS Homicide Unit. “Through this time we have remained committed to seeking answers for Colton’s family, however we need the public’s help to put the final pieces together.”

Anyone who was present at the house party on the night of Friday, July 4, 2014, or who has since learned information about Colton’s death is asked to come forward. We are asking everyone to come forward, even if you believe your information isn’t relevant or assume that investigators already have the information you do.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
