Eighteen charges laid in serious assault investigation

Three men have been charged in relation to a serious assault of two men that occurred in Coach Hill in August 2018.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, police were called to the 600 block of Coach Grove Road S.W., for a check on welfare. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men in their 20s suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victims were taken to hospital in serious condition.

Following a thorough investigation, three men have been charged with offences related to these assaults.

Imran YUSUF, 20, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and breach of probation order, as well as with one count each of assault, breach of recognizance, forcible entry and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Abbas YUSUF, 20, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and breach of recognizance, as well as one count each of assault, forcible entry and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Luke Matthew SCHAMBER, 19, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of assault and one count of forcible entry.

The suspects will next appear in court in November 2019.
