Drug trafficking investigation results in charges and the seizure of drugs, cash and firearms
We have charged two people and seized more than $88,000 worth of drugs and cash, along with firearms, following a three-month drug trafficking investigation.
In June 2026, after information from two overdose death investigations identified a suspected drug trafficker, the District Operations Team (DOT) from District 8 launched an investigation.
On Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, investigators arrested the suspect after observing activity consistent with drug trafficking. Officers then executed search warrants at a residence in the 200 block of Autumn Green S.E. in Auburn Bay and a second location in the 14400 block of Mount McKenzie Drive S.E. in McKenzie Lake, believed to be associated with the operation.
While preparing to execute the search warrant at the Auburn Bay residence, a woman was observed removing items from the home. Officers subsequently located evidence believed to be associated with drug trafficking, and she was arrested.
During the execution of the warrants, officers located and seized:
- $46,640 in Canadian currency
- $180 in American currency
- One rifle and two shotguns, along with six magazines and 148 rounds of ammunition
- 1,980.1 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $19,801)
- 569.7 grams of psilocybin (estimated street value of $11,394)
- 207.7 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $4,154)
- 593 codeine pills (estimated street value of $2,965)
- 127 Adderall pills (estimated street value of $1,270)
- 49 tabs of LSD (estimated street value of $490)
- Seven morphine pills (estimated street value of $140)
- 6,200 contraband cigarettes (estimated street value of $1,543)
- Drug trafficking paraphernalia, including scales, packaging materials and a vacuum sealer
- Electronic devices and documents related to the investigation
Investigators also seized 11 kilograms of an unknown powder, which has been submitted for analysis.
As a result of the investigation, Ryan Allan SINCLAIR, 34, has been charged with:
- 10 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
- One count of fraud over $5,000
- One count of possession of property obtained by crime
- One count of careless storage of a firearm
- One count of unsafe storage of ammunition
Brigitte Conchita PETERS-PALMA, 34, has been charged with:
- Four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
SINCLAIR, who was remanded in custody, and PETERS-PALMA are next scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026.
“This investigation removed a substantial quantity of illicit drugs from our community and disrupted drug trafficking activity,” says District 8 Insp. Darry Midtdal. “The seizure of firearms alongside these drugs highlights the serious public safety risks that can accompany the drug trade. We will continue working to remove dangerous substances from our streets and hold traffickers accountable.”
